SEVERE
The writings collected here articulate the non-negotiable criteria of a practice built under theological limit: the refusal of competition with the Creator, the rejection of Orientalist and secularized reframing of that prohibition, and the reconstruction of method from source rather than from institutional or cultural approval.
SEVERE opens the box. What is released is not neutral commentary but a systematic interruption of the secularization of contemporary art, the academic neutralization of religious limits, and the selective deconstruction of traditions that leaves Islam as the last unexamined category.
What remains is the foundation for a more rigorous, source-based engagement — one that treats theological criteria as generative rather than residual, and that refuses to let the questions of image, limit, and fidelity be absorbed into the prevailing narratives of the field.
The consequence of that refusal is SEVERE.
