بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
My work embodies an organic, meticulous pen and ink technique with the profound themes of Islamic art to explore concepts of patience, devotion. I seek to illuminate the essence of Islamic art, through intricate patterns that reflect the concept of infinity and a modern interpretation of Islamic tradition.
I utilize archival fine art paper and .30mm Staedtler Marsmatic technical pens, along with Dr. Ph. Martin’s Black Star Hi-Carb India ink, to create patterns of apparent infinity and intricate detail. The meticulous nature of my work is influenced by traditional Islamic art practices and the teachings of prominent Islamic scholars. This inspiration guides my approach to combining historical reverence with contemporary artistic expression. For example, in my opus Ṣahīfatu aṣ-Ṣabr (The Scroll of Patience), I employ these techniques to manifest a visual representation of patience and divine unity, embodying the central themes of my practice.
My work aims to offer viewers a profound and transformative experience by merging tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Currently, I am developing new pieces for my ongoing project, The Scroll of Patience, which continues to delve into The Art of The Infinite Pattern™. Potential exhibitions in the future (if Allah wills) will showcase these new works, further exploring the intricate relationship between art, spirituality, and personal devotion.
